What happens to a child's information
A child's recordings are processed on computers that the family owns and controls. This page says only what our records support. Where our records don't support something yet, we don't claim it.
HAVEN runs for one family today, and any other family's data will wait for independent ethics review. A child's recordings are processed on computers that the family owns and controls. We don't claim that nothing ever leaves the family's computers. Across families, HAVEN is designed to share learned patterns. It's designed never to share a recording, a name or a child's words. Sharing across families isn't running.
What happens to a child's information
What the HAVEN pages collect
The HAVEN pages don't ask a visitor for anything about a child.
Consent
A parent's written consent is recorded. A parent can withdraw it at any time. The programs that handle a child's recordings in the live pipeline check for an active consent record before they run.
Ethics review before any other family
HAVEN runs for one family today, and any other family's data will wait for independent ethics review. The next step is a trial with more families. It requires independent ethics review (an IRB) before any other family's data is collected.
What an anonymized update is
The cross-family layer is designed to work with anonymized updates. An anonymized update is designed to be a pattern the system learned, with no recording in it and no child's words. We use the word in no other sense. This layer isn't running.
What would be shared and what would not
Across families, HAVEN is designed to share learned patterns. It's designed never to share a recording, a name or a child's words.
How the private side is kept separate
Records that could identify a child are kept in a separate private area. A privacy reader checks each piece of work that touches it.
Outside services
What a parent types to HAVEN's coach passes through a messaging service and a language model provider. Recordings don't. HAVEN shows no advertising to children. No child's recording, image, voice or name is used in marketing.
What we don't claim
HAVEN supports families. It doesn't diagnose, and it doesn't replace a clinician, therapist or teacher. We publish no accuracy figure, and we make no claim that HAVEN can predict anything. We don't claim that nothing ever leaves the family's computers. We make no claim yet about how long a child's data is kept or how it's deleted. HAVEN is designed to take the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act into account. We make no claim of legal compliance or certification.
